Volunteer and Help a Foster Child

You may not be aware, but if you ask your relatives, friends, and co-workers, you'll probably find that at least someone has been involved with foster children. Did you also know that the majority of people want to help a foster child? Now you may also be thinking that you aren't ready or able to be a foster parent. Great news! There are many ways that you can help foster kids that require just a little bit of your time. Check it out below.

Easy Ways to Help Foster Kids

Anything can be accomplished if enough people join in together. Here are some of the easiest ways that you can make an important difference in the life of a foster child.

  • Like us on Facebook. This takes just minutes but can have a huge impact. Everything starts with education so read our posts. Then ask questions. Leave a comment and share our posts. Sharing a post is one of the best ways to reach thousands of people you know. They can discover more about foster children and the foster care system.

You have the power to let your friends know about the good and sometimes the bad that happens to foster children. Ask your friends to like us. The more people, the easier it is to get out our message. Get updates on family finding successes.

  • Share your interest with your kids. Many high school and college students are concerned about social issues. They might become very interested in what's happening to foster children and ways to help them.

  • Volunteer your time to support our work. We always have work for volunteers from doing research to contacting case workers, judges and potential donors. Maybe you'd like to offer professional help with marketing, our website, social media, grant research and writing or publicity and get a tax deduction for your time. If you have a passion to advocate for foster children, we have activities. Call us and let's talk.

More Ways to Help Foster Kids

There are many ways that you can be a part of the process that helps to move foster children out of the foster care system and into forever homes.

  • Help us raise funds by telling your friends and associates. Encourage them to visit this website and to donate. If 1,000 people give $8 each month, that would raise $96,000 for the year. No government bailout. No loans with high fees. Just caring people like you giving a little every month so children can leave foster care to live in a forever home.

  • Ask local business associations to support our work. The Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club are just a couple of associations that can and often use events as a way to raise money for worthwhile causes such as foster children. If you own a restaurant or know someone who does, often they will have a special night where a percentage of the sales will go toward a good cause. We're happy to talk about ways that a business can support us and get recognition for their efforts.

We don't have all the answers. We are looking for people with ideas about ways to bring in support, whether through cash donations, good press about our work or other ways we have not even considered.
